This committee monitors the physical condition of parish property, its maintenance and upkeep, identifies and articulates the future facility needs of the parish and makes recommendations trough the Finance Committee to the Parish Council. We meet the first Tuesday of each month in St. Clare Hall, at 7:00PM.

We properly maintain the cemeteries in a manner that provides dignity, serenity, and abiding beauty, so that those who visit may have the peace and comfort that they are entitled to. In order to accomplish these goals the Cemetery Committee provides and maintains rules and regulations. All questions and inquires should be directed to our Sexton.

Prayer and Worship



We organize and schedule volunteers for the various ministries which assist Father at each Mass. This includes the listed below. This committee is also involved in the music provide for services and worship aides. We typically meet the first Tuesday of each month.

Being a Minister of the Altar is one of great honor. Students from 3rd through 12th grade, and beyond are invited to become Mass Servers. Serving our Lord is an honor and privilege by assisting Father at Mass.

Ushers

A team of four ushers at each Mass seat parishioners, answer questions, assist parishioners who need help during Mass, take up the collection, help cheerfully greet parishioners, and hand out the weekly bulletins. With the greeters, ushers increase positive interactions at Mass and help keep our parish growing. We hold an annual meeting to update our user schedule to insure accuracy. Each team of 4 ushers has a captain who advises contact people if any problems arise or there is a change in a user team.

Greeters

Arrive 20 to 30 minutes to prior Mass. We welcome each other with a smile, friendly greeting, and offer assistance if needed. Greeters are stationed at the 2 entrance areas of the church. No formal meetings. We invite you to join our ministry.

Eucharistic Adoration

We have Eucharistic Adoration weekly on Thursdays in remembrance of the day Jesus instituted the Sacrament. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is in St. George’s Chapel of St. Clare Hall from 8:30 AM until closing with Benediction of 6:00 PM. No meetings, just Adoration, 1-hour intervals throughout the day on Thursdays.

Contemporary Music Ensemble (CME)

This group of adults supports the congregation during various liturgies throughout the year. Instrumentation include keyboard, bass, guitar, flute, trumpets, drums and vocals. Rehearsals times and dates vary. New members are welcome. Please contact the CME coordinator if interested

Adult Choir

The St. Peter's Parish Adult Choir sings at the 5:00 PM Mass on the first two Saturdays of the month and the 7:30 a.m. Mass on the third and fourth Sundays of the month. We welcome new members to join us in singing praise to God. It is not necessary to read music to join, only a love for singing and the ability to carry a tune. We practice weekly from September to the end of May, on Thursday evenings, from 7:15 to 8:45 PM in the St. Peter's School music room.

The goal of this ministry is to plan and organize activities that enhance the knowledge and spiritual growth in our Faith for adult parishioners. Meeting times are on various topics and evenings throughout the year.

Friends of Faith


We invite you to join us to savor the sweetness-enjoy friendship, share encouraging and lively discussions as we read and share enduring faith-based materials, and have refreshments. We meet the  2nd Monday of each month in Clare Hall, immediately following the 8:00AM Mass, until 10:00AM.

Religious Education Program Serves parish families with children in public schools, offering classroom and experiential instruction in the Catholic faith to children beginning age 3 through 17. We collaborate with our parish school in sacramental preparation and celebrations as well as other religious and social events to encourage parish unity and identity.

Human Concerns Committee


In order to address the needs of others on the local, national and global scene, St. Peter’s Parish Human Concerns Committee uses: Justice Education, Direct Service, Advocacy and Empowerment. The following are a few ways this is carried out: Harvest House meal program in West Bend; coordinating and collecting for the food pantry, school supplies and baby showers for poor; Operation Rice Bowl during Lent, Franciscan Peacemakers and Catholic Charities, identifying worthy charities for support; and Direction and support for the Health Care Ministry and Parish Nurse. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:15 PM in St. Clare Hall.

Parish Nursing-Health Ministry

This ministry provides the use of professional nursing to help facilitate the healing is a mission of the church. The Parish Nurse is a health advocate, health counselor, health educator, health referral agent, volunteer coordinator, and a role model for the relationship between one’s faith and health. The Health Ministry Committee meets quarterly and works to support and plan programs to provide whole person health (body, mind and spirit) for the parish. We invite volunteers to contact Arlene if you would like to help an elderly person in our parish.

Elizabeth Ministry

This group responds to the needs of women and their families during childbearing years. Elizabeth Ministry is based on the story of the Visitation. Women minister to other women in similar circumstances. By sharing one another’s stories, women are able to provide support and encouragement to one another. Elizabeth Ministry focuses on pregnancy and birth, miscarriage, infant or child death, fertility and infertility, adoption, family support, infant or child crisis, and grand parenting. A short orientation is required but no regular meetings are held.

Prayer Line

The St. Peter’s Parish Line accepts requests for prayers which may be needed by members of the parish and their immediate families during times of emergency or illness. Individuals are always encouraged to become members of the prayer line and pray for the needs of others. No meetings. Members are contacted by phone as requests for prayer occur.

Pro Life Committee

This committee promotes respect for and protection of all human life from the moment of conception until natural death. We distribute information and promote events such as the Life Chain, P. We are members of Pro-Life Wisconsin-Washington County Chapter. Pro-life Rosary, and prayer vigils/sidewalk counseling at the AFS abortion clinic in Milwaukee. We are members of Pro-life Wisconsin-Washington County Chapter.

Harvest House

Harvest House is a community effort to feed a good meal to those in need. Most of the West Bend and surrounding parishes join in and take turns providing the volunteers and desserts served. St. Peter’s is scheduled for five times in 2011 to serve the Saturday noon meal. Location is St. James Episcopal Church in West Bend. Volunteers enjoy service, fellowship and a rewarding time.

Bereavement Committee

The Bereavement Committee attends visitation and assists at funeral Masses and Memorial Services of St. Peter Parish members to extend support to the family and to offer prayers of consolation. Families also receive follow-up cards and information on coping with grief with the help of the Catholic Church. An active telephone ministry is in place, and one on one Bereavement Ministry facilitation is available, call 262/-644-8083, ext. 16, to schedule an appointment. Events during the year are offered for the bereaved, as announced.
