Handbook
Since St. Peter
School is a Catholic school whereby parents and teachers work
together on the spiritual formation of the children,
I promise to contribute to the support of St. Peter School
financially and through volunteer works. I also promise to model
Christian values through participation in spiritual programs and
activities.
This handbook has been prepared to help you become familiar with the
philosophy and policies of St. Peter School. We hope that
you will find this handbook useful and informative not only as we begin a
new school year, but throughout the school year.
We
extend a warm welcome to those who are joining our school community and
welcome back those who grew last year at
St. Peter’s. We are sure that this coming year will be filled with
challenge and growth.
The National Catechetical Directory clearly supports the concept that “parents are the first and foremost (teachers) of their children” and that “when children are baptized, the Church community promises to help parents foster their faith” (NCD 212).
Echoing this directive, we at St. Peter School see the task of providing
opportunities for learning and growth as one shared
throughout the community. It involves students, parents, teachers, priests,
support staff, and the entire faith community. We are
all called to work together so that the talents and potential of each person
is nurtured and fully realized. By enrolling your children
