 Anointing of the Sick

Pastoral care of the sick and dying is a very important part of our church's mission and ministries.  Regular visits with Holy Communion for homebound members are provided by our deacon, parish nurse and volunteer lay ministers.

The anointing of the sick can be administered to any member whose health is marked by serious illness, surgery or aging.  This Sacrament is to be received during the early stages of illness.  Do not delay the anointing until a person is actively dying.

The Sacrament can be repeated whenever a sick person again falls into serious sickness or whenever a more serious crisis develops during the same sickness. A Communal Anointing (Little Lourdes Day) is celebrated for the sick of Washington County area parishes each year.  Residents of the Scenic View Apartments (Slinger Housing Authority) and Safe Harbor Nursing Home (where the Parish provides Mass monthly and Holy Communion weekly) are anointed three times annually.  A communal reception of the Sacrament is available every first Friday of the month after 8:00 AM Mass.  In order to arrange anointing for yourself or for a loved one, please call the pastor.
